Chapter 3: Game Room

‘Listen to my heartbeat.’ My phone rang. I quickly answered it.
“Hello?… I’m working right now. Right. See you.” It was him. I almost forgot that I have to meet him at this new game store.
Chansung asked me who it was. And I told him it was Mark.
“Chansung-ah, could you drive me to this new store? A friend wants me to go there.” I asked him. “Huh? What friend? I mean who? And where?” He asked.
He’s so protective of me. “Downtown. I’ll lead you to it. Its a new game store.” I told him.
He hates it when I go out with my guy bestfriend. He thinks that Mark still likes me. I also get that feeling but I think of him asa friend only.
“I’m not driving you there.” He said.I can’t believe he’s actually acting like a kid. I playfully tricked him. “Aww.. Come on. I barely go to game stores now. You can come with me. If you don’t want to, you can wait for me in the car or just stay out of sight.” It took me a couple of minutes to finally convince him.
I turned on the radio and it played Tik Tok. I was about to change the station when he stopped me. I looked at him with a question. “You hate our song that much?” He asked.
“No! I love all your songs!” I exclaimed.
“Well, you were about to change it.” He reasoned. I gave up. I remained silent.
I felt him look at me. I didn’t turn. “Hae Rin, I’m sorry.” And he meant it.
He dropped me off right in front of the store. Mark was already waiting for me. Chansung saw him and he wanted to kiss me, but he stopped. I gave him a kiss right on the corner of his lips. His car was gaining attention, some people were already suspicious about him. And so I hurriedly went out. And he sped away.
“You okay?” Mark asked. I nodded.
We went inside and the place was wonderful.
I lost track of time when I went into the game room. It was pretty dark. There were other game geeks there. But I still couldn’t see. They had a new virtual online game. So we had to wear this headset with glasses. After a while of serious playing, I felt a tug on my jeans. I ignored it at first. But then, I realized that someone was touching me. Pervert! I panicked! But I couldn’t move. I felt hot tears on my face. I threw the headset towards the person who touched me and ran out, crying. My vision blurred as I ran outside, crying. I ran towards my house. I know it was far, but I just wanted to get away from that place. I tried calling Chansung, but he wouldn’t answer. I just walked and walkedand walked. I crossed the Han River. I then took a cab to my house. When I got there, Chansung’s car was already parked outside. I hurriedly searched for my house key and opened the door.
It was dark and cold. He must’ve turned on the AC. I found him on the couch, asleep. I took off my boots, scarf, and coat. I slowly walked over to him and looked at him.
I was one of the luckiest girls in the world. Having an awesome boyfriend. Who meant what they say.
I almost forgot what happened to me earlier. I felt so scared suddenly as the cold room tried to caress my skin. I did what I’ve always liked. I slowly crept beside him, slowly snuggled my way beside him. He groaned a little bit, and embraced me like his favorite soft pillow.
“I’m scared.” I told him.
I wanted to feel him, touch his skin. Knowing that it’s really him.
